Transport for hospital appointments

(11.Sep.2019)

Please note, London Ambulance no longer accepts bookings by GP on behalf of patients.

They need to speak with the patient herself/ himself before they authorise the booking.

Patients need to call themselves on 0333 24 04 909

This applies to all transport bookings including the Whittington Hospital, North Middlesex Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, Moorfields Hospital ...

(Receptionists have tried calling them with the patient present at the desk - they still insisted the patient should call herself/ himself)

The booking procedures previously published on this web page are no longer valid.

London Ambulance Service booking procedure

Any request for ambulance transport, please convey to our team at least 2 working days before your journey to hospital.
The ambulance service requires our booking form to arrive at least 1 clear day in advance.
For example, if your hospital appointment is on Monday:
Please let us know by Thursday at the latest.
We shall send off the paperwork on Thursday, so the ambulance office can process it on Friday.
Then they will be able to confirm transport for Monday.
