To opt out:

(1) The official way is via the NHS Digital website:

https://digital.nhs.uk/services/national-data-opt-out

(2) Another easy way is via the NHS App.

The app also lets you order repeat prescriptions, see your health data, change your hospital appointments, report lateral flow test results, and contains the Vaccine Passport.

(3) If all fails, you can download a paper form. You can send completed forms to the GP surgery, by post, by email, by eConsult (as a photo scan).

We ask you to give us consent to contact you by SMS (text message to your mobile phone), and by email.

Some of the reasons we contact you in this way are:
1. remind you of your appointments;
2. inform you of test results that required action;
3. let you know when we have made arrangements for you, e.g. referral letter;
4. send you invitation to make appointments for your needs e.g. influenza vacciine;
5. pass on to you urgent warnings (e.g. medicines recall, coronavirus advice).

We use iPlato and AccuRx messaging services which are commissioned by the NHS England.
